Daniel Haywood

Daniel has demonstrated 20 years of I.T. success stories in a range roles including Project Management, Consultancy, Presentations and Training in Australia, Indonesia, the US. and Europe. His technical ability (code development) has not hindered Daniel’s ability to communicate with a range of users, customers and management which is demonstrated by sales and support successes, and the delivery of systems according to agreed specifications and timeframes.

After completing my BSc in computer science I initially coded in Assembler, progressing to C for OS/2 and then Windows 3, for the banking sector.  In 1993, I became involved in MS Office applications, but since the advent of .Net systems (2001) I have converted to building Java and MySQL based solutions. - I only wish I'd done it sooner!

Some success stories

School Attendance Roll Tool
Ulysses built an Access-based Attendance Roll Tool to standardise entry and reporting of school attendance for use in schools across Cape York
Eisteddfod Program Organiser
Ulysses designed, developed and implemented at minimal cost, a competitor management system for the Junior Eisteddfod Association, using Microsoft Access. The system facilitated construction of the Eisteddfod program, produced entry forms; data entered the competitor's program selections, provided statements and receipts for monies, and produced a printed program for opening night.
Customs Export Declaration Expediter
Ulysses Software designed, developed and implemented a Microsoft Excel based application for managing and facilitating Customs Export Clearances. The developed program queries the WAN-based Oracle database in Iran Jaya and populates an intermediate Access DB. Excel enhancements and facilities are used to process the data and expedite its export to Australian Customs where Export Clearance Numbers and permits are issued.
Booking Reservation System with accounts, products and job management and real-time communications to transportation
In 1996, Ulysses Software designed, developed and implemented a booking reservations system. The system uses a 3-tier architecture with a VB6 GUI front-end, or ASP web, to the COM+ middle-tier Booking Data Objects through to a SQLServer database backend. Additional functions include an interface to MS Great Plains accounting system, Crystal and ASP+XML web-based Reports and Java-based realtime messaging of communications to and from the transportation.
