Information & Rules For Metal Detecting Championships
The main Metal Detecting Championships
will take the form of two (One and a half hour)
heats. One on Saturday, one on Sunday. The first heat on Saturday will be
12.30 – 2 pm. The second heat on Sunday will be 10 am – 11.30 pm.
Please call in at the on site office from 9 am for all information.
ALL nominations for the main competition must be in by 10 am Saturday
morning. - gather at 12 .15 pm for instructions and rules of the main
detecting competition at the office.
For
those who cannot attend both heats in the main competition there will still be a
chance to win the main prize and many instant and mystery prizes by only
attending one heat although there will be a definite advantage to those able to
complete both heats. There will be
different types of tokens of different metals to be detected and it is advised
that you dig all signals to be in the running for the major prize,
instant prizes and mystery prizes.
On Sunday afternoon there will be the kids hunt (under 12), a ladies hunt , and
finishing off with a ‘Progressive Hunt’ which is open to all.
Nominations for these other detecting events must be made at the office prior to
the events at least 30 minutes before the events take place.
The progressive hunt will be in three
sections. The competitor will have to find a certain number of tokens to
progress to the next section with the most tokens needed to be found in the
final section. The winner will be the first across the line with the correct
number of final tokens.
The method of scoring and how the points
will be allocated will not be announced till the end of the competitions (to
avoid cheating) but it will be as fair as possible and the judges decision is
final.
