Slotted Spine
Tutorial |
Step Twelve |
Place the second section on top of the first (check your guide marks). Go in through the first hole of the second section, take the needle over the spine edge and then through the cover and back into the first hole of the second section . |
| Step Thirteen |
(Repeat
Step Ten) Sew in and out down the section finishing up on the
outside of the cover at the last hole. (Repeat Step Eleven) Take the needle over the outside of the spine and enter back into the same hole but do not go through the cover instead bring the needle out between the second section and the cover. Position the section correctly and gently tighten the thread. |
| The inside of the second section should look like this: |
| The stitching on the outside of the cover should look like this: |

Step Fourteen |
Continue in this manner until you have placed the last section and have finished up on the outside of the cover at the last hole. Take the needle over the spine and tie off by looping through the last stitch on the inside of the last section. Tie securely. Trim the thread to about 15mm. If you wish place a small dab of glue on the knot to hold it in place. If you have used waxed thread the knot should hold without glue. |
